My path of self study and spiritual development started at a very young age during a meditation session taught by my father, who was my karate sensei. During this session we visualized energy vortex streaming up connecting us with the universe. This experience helped me to tap into an amazing database of knowledge. I was always intrigued by the movement and inner world and therefore have tried various methods and techniques from transcendental meditation to Buddhist practices to explore these two principles. After a long search I discovered that Tibetan tradition of Buddhism was the right course to quiet my mind and to answer many questions on existence that arose in my curious intellect. However I missed the physical aspect in this tradition and that was how I got introduced to Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga.

It was love at first sight and a regular practice was established quickly and joyfully. I was very fortunate to practice at the Ashtanga Yoga Research Institute in the presence of Sri K. Pattabhi Jois himself as well as at Mysore Mandala Yoga shala with V. Sheshadri in Mysore, India. In 2006 I completed yoga teacher training at Yoga Moves studio in Utrecht and followed various workshops and trainings by senior Ashtanga teachers throughout Europe and Asia.

My own practice and teaching are greatly influenced by the knowledge and experience of Nancy Gilgoff, Rolf and Marci. Believing in the fact that we have a whole life to practice yoga I care about making this journey joyful and painless, based on energy and breath awareness, correct alignment and diligence. I trust that any person can practice Ashtanga Yoga regularly and experience its amazing transformative force. Yogamandala is the outcome of my aspiration to establish a strong group of steady and dedicated Ashtanga Yoga practitioners in The Netherlands.
